TASER Color: The TASER X26 is available in Black or Yellow (and Clear at additional cost when available). You may specify your color choice in the "Special Instructions" section that appears after entering your credit card number. If you do not specify, we will ship Black.
Holster: You have a choice of the following holsters: Blackhawk!™ SERPA® Basket Weave Fullsize Version, or Blackhawk!™ Matte Finish Fullsize Duty Holster, or Blade-Tech® Tek-Lok™ Duty Holster, or Safariland™ Thumb Release with Closed Loop Belt Retention or Safariland™ Thumb Release with Standard Belt Clasp. You may specify your holster first and second choice in the "Special Instructions" section that appears after entering your credit card number. If you are left handed or intend to draw with your left hand, please request a "Left Hand" holster. If you do not specify, we will ship a Right Hand Blackhawk!™ Fullsize Basket Weave or Matte Finish Duty Holster at our discretion.
DPM Digital Power Magazine Battery: Do not remove the DPM until necessary, to replace it with a new battery. Replace it when the display shows 10% to 20% battery level or after three years, whichever comes first. Apply sufficiant force to compress and load the new battery. The battery's foam gasket must be fully compressed into the handle with a snug fit. Verify that the battery release button is flush (not subsurface) with the handgrip. Wait for the display to finish the data upload before testing it. Do not remove the battery if "P" is displayed on the display. To test your TASER weapon, remove the cartridge to facilitate a one second spark test, and then shut it off. Test it once a week or once a month. In normal use with regular one second weekly testing it should last for about 3 years.
The XDPM Extended Battery with Spare Cartridge Clip: can be requested instead of the standard DPM, but we do not recommend it for use on a duty belt. It will twist even in normal use when worn on a duty belt and can eventually short out the TASER. It also has a tendency to get caught on things when worn on the belt. The result can be that it will split the TASER in two right up the seam. If you still prefer the XDPM, please consider wearing it in front of a tactical vest where it is not likely to cause a problem. A Blackhawk!™ Serpa MOLLE Attachment for a Tactical Vest is available here for that purpose. Otherwise carry a spare cartridge in a Blackhawk!™ TASER X26 Rapid-Reload™ Spare Cartridge Case which is also available here.
Laser Sight and LED: We recommend that you leave the factory settings with both the Laser Sight and LED Flashlight turned on. The Laser Sight may not be visible to the subject, but the LED Light is highly visible as an obvious warning and deterrent. If either stops working, you may have pressed the small Illumination Selector Button on top that switches between Laser and Flashlight (LF), Laser Only (LO), Only Flashlight (OF) and Neither Laser Nor Flashlight (OO). CAUTION: Using pens or paper clips to press the Illumination Selector Button may damage it. Use only your finger to press the Illumination Selector Button.
